FAQs

Do I need a Doctor’s referral?

Massachusetts is a direct access state. This means that you do not need a doctor’s referral to access a physical therapist which ultimately allows for quicker access to the treatment you need and deserve.

What conditions do you treat?

Our clinic’s specialty is the assessment and treatment of both vestibular and neurologic dysfunction. This includes but is not limited to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson disease, peripheral and central vertigo, and impaired balance. Emily is a certified neuro-developmental treatment therapist (C/NDT) as well as a board certified neurological clinical specialist (NCS). She has over 8 years of experience treating in both the acute care and outpatient settings.

What types of health insurance do you accept?

Steady Steps Rehabilitation, LLC does not currently accept health insurance directly. We accept cash or credit payments as well as HSA cards. We can provide you with a super bill each session if you would like to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will need to contact your insurance company to determine reimbursement as each insurance company is different and we do not guarantee reimbursement.

Where are you located?

We come to you! One of our goals at Steady Steps Rehab is to improve the convenience and practicality of our sessions. Most of our client’s goals are home or community based. Treating you in your desired environment allows for improved application of interventions and translation of skills. Tele-therapy services are also available if that is what is preferred by the client.

What should I expect from the free consultation?

This consultation is a free 15 minute phone conversation to gain a general understanding of your diagnosis, goals, and how Steady Steps Rehab can help you. It is also time to answer any brief questions about the concierge physical therapy model of practice including treatment techniques, payment, and scheduling. If after the initial phone consultation you feel Steady Steps is a good match for you, then we will proceed with scheduling an initial evaluation!
